Obituary from the Mobile [AL] Register, 17 Jun 1987: Mrs. Sylvina Hinton - A native of Caldwell, Ohio, and a resident of Mobile since 1941, died in Chalmette, Louisiana on Sunday, June 14, 1987. She was the beloved wife of the late Gayford Lee Hinton Sr. She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Mariam Griffin of Chalmette, Louisiana; one son, Gaylord Lee Hinton, Jr. of Fountain Valley, California; nine grandchildren, five great-grand- children and other relatives. Funeral services will beheld from the chapel of Roche-Belmany Mortuary on Thursday, June 18, 1987, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the mortuary on Wednesday, June 17, 1987 from 5 until 8 p.m. The Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Interment will be in the Old Spring Hill Cemetery.
