Eichhorn were conducted at the Congregational church, Rodney, Monday morning by the pastor, Rev. Herrell. A male quarter, Lester Harrison, Bruce Haddock, Keith Haddock, and Duane Lloyd sang, accompanied by Mrs. Bruce Haddock at the piano. Interment was at Graceland cemetery, Sioux City, under the direction of the Willman Funeral Home of Rodney. Pall bearers were Lee Ford, Hans Green, Louis Eichhorn, Marian Rose, Frederick Rose, and Clyde Rose. Rollie Casper Eichhorn was born near Holly Springs, February 14, 1885, the son of Martin and Charlotte (Yockey) Eichhorn. He departed this life January 1, 1942 at his home in Rodney. He helped his father on the farm until he became of age. In 1907 and 1908 he with his brother William were in the restaurant business in Jefferson, Iowa. Following this he farmed the home place for a number of years. In 1919 he moved to a farm near Rodney, which he sold in 1921, purchasing the store in Rodney which he operated continuously to time of his death.He was married to Alvina Steinhoff December 1, 1909. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Mildred Cleveland, Wilfred and June. He united with the Evangelical church at German City and was a faithful member until death.He was interested in all the work of the community and was a member of the school board and the city council for many years. His sudden call was a great shock to his many friends and relatives.Surviving are the wife, three children, one grandchild, Tracy Lee Cleveland, five sisters, Mrs. George Rose, and Mrs. Ed Rose of Hornick, Mrs. Emma Lang of Galesburg, Ill., Mrs. Jessie Tucker of Jefferson, and Mrs. Albert Egger of Dickens, and a brother, William Eichhorn of Hornick.
