Hoerauf Roland Hoerauf, 82, of Fargo passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009. Roland was born May 16, 1926 in Hebron, North Dakota to Albert and Dora (Buchli) Hoerauf. He graduated from Hebron High School, and received an Associate degree from NDSU. He was employed as a research technician at the Metabolism and Research Lab. He retired in 1989. Roland also served in the Korean War with the US Army. He gave 40 years of dedication to his church by serving on many boards and committees. Roland was united in marriage to Ruth Ketterling on June 13, 1954 in Hebron, North Dakota. Roland and Ruth were blessed to have celebrated their 54th glorious wedding anniversary. They farmed for twelve years in Hebron, North Dakota. They came to Fargo in 1966. Summers were spent at the farm. They did extensive traveling and visited all 50 states and 9 foreign countries. Roland was preceded in death by his sisters Ruth and Ursula and his brother Willard. Roland is survived by his wife Ruth, his children Romelle (John) Speral, Regan (Sherri) Hoerauf, and Relke (Will) Lancaster, and his eight grandchildren Ross, Alissa, Colton, Lance, Brittany, Joshua, Tamica, and Stephen. Funeral: Thursday, March 12, 2009, 10:00 AM at Plymouth Congregational Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, March 11, 2009 fro 5:00 7:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
