  [S927] Obituary. Obituary for Richard Melvin Gerst Gerst, Richard Melvin Richard Melvin Gerst, age 61, of St Cloud, FL passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013. He was born the son of Arthur P. and Augusta Rosner Gerst August 25, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Osceola County in1996. He was a retired iron worker, Charter Member and Charter Grand Knight of St. Thomas Aquinas Council #15357 in St. Cloud, Fl. He was also a member of Iron Workers Local #396, St. louis, Missouri. Richard was the first Director of the Florida Basketball and Volleyball Association, Southside. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Gerst of St. Cloud, Florida; son: Richard Gerst of St. Cloud, Florida; brothers: Arthur P. Gerst II (Kim) of St. Louis, Missouri, Raymond J. Gerst (Jeannette) of Lakeland, Florida; sister: Mary Ann Adkisson (Gordon) of Lake Ozark, Missouri; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Augusta Gerst; a son: James Michael Gerst and a brother James S. Gerst. The family will receive friends at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 12:15 P.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 P.M. celebrated by Fr. Joe Weber. Interment will follow at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family requests that Memorial Donations be made to the Knights of Columbus, St. Thomas Aquinas Council #15357, P.O.
