Mr. Burkhart had lived in Noble and Washington counties most of his life. He had owned and operated an antique store at Marietta and previously worked at Remington Rand. He was a Baptist by faith and was a member of Senior Citizens at Caldwell. He was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Elk Township, Noble County, to Charles and Elizabeth Holiday Burkhart. Mr. Burkhart is survived by one sister, Ida G. Kehl of Lowell; and two sons from a previous marriage, James Preston Beebe and Robert Lee Beebe. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Lewis Burkhart; and five sisters, Martha Hockenberry, Mary Martin, Verna Klemm, Bessie Fleeman and Tessa Burkhart. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Schafer officiating. Burial will be in Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery near Harrietsville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and until time for the services on Saturday.
