Birth: Dec. 18, 1872, Ukraine Death: Apr. 20, 1950 Stark County North Dakota, USA Prominent Richardton resident Michael Hoerner, 77, passed away of a heart attack about three miles north of Richardton at 10:15 a.m. Thursday while on his way by car to visit at a relative's farm. Funeral services have been set for 10 a.m. Monday April 24 at St. Mary's church at Richardton, Father Frederick Mundt officiating. The body is now at the Mischel funeral home in Dickinson but will lie in state at Richardton Sunday at the Richardton funeral home. The rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Saturday and also Sunday and other church ceremonies will include requiem and high mass. The deceased was driving his car Thursday morning accompanied by a daughter Mrs. George Kuch of Forsythe, Mont, now visiting with relatives in this area, when the vehicle became stuck in a rut. He stopped the car, got out to get a shovel and then complained of pain, the heart attack and death following quickly. He was born Dec. 18, 1872, in South Russia, was married there to Eleanore Stein Feb. 5, 1902, then they came to the United States in January 1912 and he had resided in the Richardton area ever since. A farmer, he retired in 1939 and came to Richardton to reside, being vice president of the Farmers State bank there at the time of his death. His wife passed away November 29, 1945. Survivors including four sons, Fred, Peter, and Emil, all of Richardton; Valentine of Mott; four daughters, Mrs. William (Eleanor) Forster and Mrs. Frank (Anna) Berger, both of Richardton, Mrs. George (Nellie) Kuch of Forysth, Mont., and Mrs. William (Margaret) Rummel of Dickinson. Other surviving are: sisters, Mrs. Kasper Armbrust of Dickinson, Lena Senn and Francis Hoerner, both displaced persons now in Germany, and one brother Val of Spokane, Wash., also 28 grandchildren.
