Cowan, 80, Eugene, a former Chiloquin resident, died Aug. 31, 2003 of ovarian cancer. She was born to Adolph and Martha (Workman) Feldner in North Dakota and raised there until moving to Oregon in 1939 and graduating from Chiloquin High School. She moved to Eugene in 1958. She was primarily a home maker, but also worked for several years in the billing department at the Eugene Hospital and Clinic. She married William Cowan on March 31, 1998, in Reno. Among her interests were caring for and spending time with family members and friends, camping, playing cards, gardening, and going to the beach. Mrs. Cowan was an active member of the Eugene First Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, and Old-Timers Car Club. She previously was active in Parents-Teachers Association, March of Dimes, and Boy Scouts. Survivors include her husband William Cowan of Eugene; sons Dennis Wirth of Springfield and Rondal Bondy of Eugene; daughters Cinda Vie and Cheryl Bondy of Eugene; stepdaughter Karen Wilson of Portland; stepsons Andrew Cowan and Mykal Taylor of Eugene; brother Allen Feldner of Albion, Wash.; sisters Edna Lytner and Shirley Hudnut of Portland and Edythe Stapleman of Moses Lake, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
