Margaret J. Welsch Deku
TORONTO, Ohio - Margaret J. Welsch Deku, 97, a homemaker of Toronto passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at her home.
She had resided in Mounds- ville, W.Va. until she was 8 years old and then moved to Glen Dale, W.Va. on the family farm after which she moved to Toronto.
She was born July 10, 1907, in Bridgeport, Ohio, the daughter of the late Peter and Victorine Hores Welsch.
Margaret is a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church of Toronto where she had served as an officer and member of the St. Francis Alter Soceity and Catholic Women's Club.
She is a graduate of Moundsville High School in Moundsville, W.Va. and the former Elliott Business College of Wheeling, W.Va. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert W. Deku, who passed away in 1983 and whom she married Nov. 15, 1932; brother, Anthony P. Welsch; three sis- ters, Mrs. Howard (Mary) Schertzinger, Mrs. Chris (Madelyn) Miedel and Mrs. Joseph (Katherine) O'Leary. Her survivors are two sons, Robert D. Deku and wife, Marion of Toronto and Bernard A. "Bing" Deku of the home in Toronto; two granddaughters, Lee Ann Pyles and husband, Darryl of Bremen, Ohio and Margaret Deku of Toronto; grandson, Paul C. Deku of Ft. Mitchell, Ky.; and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Pyles Patterson and husband, Ben of Columbus, Ohio.
Friends and family will gath- er for visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto 740-537-1234 or 800-588-1446. A Vigil service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A Blessing Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 18, at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Liturgy with Mass at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday with Monsignor Kurt Kemo officiating.
Burial will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery. Friends and family are invit- ed to a luncheon at the St. Francis Hall following services at the church and cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Margaret may be made to the St. Francis Central School, 1225 N. River Ave., Toronto, OH 43964 or the Val- ley Hospice, 380 Summit Ave., Steubenville, OH 43952.
