He was born June 6, 1934, at Guadalupe y Calvo, Chihuahua, Mexico, son of Alfredo and Maria Torres Garcia. He and Anna Garcia were married March 26, 1986, at Great Bend, Kan.
Garcia was employed by the Bordton Construction Company in Hutchinson, Kan., for 35 years before he retired. He was a former maintenance man for Meridian, Ill., schools.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Alfredo Garcia of Parral, Chihuahua, Glen Garcia of Houston, Texas, Manuel Garcia Jr. of Hutchinson, Kan., and Stuart Crisman of Grand Chain, Ill.; three daughters, Leticia Pinon of Juarez, Chihuahua, Estela Lumbreras of Hutchinson and Karen Casper of Jonesboro; three sisters, Luz Manriquez, Estela Gardea and Eva G. Rodriguez, all of El Paso, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tammy Horn, the Rev. Scott Kelley and Monsignor Bill McGhee officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Grand Chain
