- [S927] Obituary.
Claus, Leora Claus nee Christman
Monroe County Beacon, Woodsfield, Ohio, dated, September 7, 1942
LKP#5
Mrs. Lewis Claus passed away August 15th at her home near Malaga, Ohio, at the age of 28 years, 5 months and 15 days, after a lingering illness of almost two years.
Mrs. Claus was very patient in her illness and never complained. Everything possible was done to make her comfortable and restore her to health. God needed her more than she was needed here on earth, so we must bear it patiently.
Her pleasant greetings are missed by a host of friends. She leaves to mourn, a husband, a sweet little daughter, Linda Lou, two and a half years; her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. George M. Christman; one brother, Clarence, of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Paren Baker, of Barnesville, Route 2, and Mrs. Michael Burkhart, Jr., of Woodsfield, Route 3.
She was laid to rest in Oak Lawn cemetery, Woodsfield, August 17th.
We wish to thank all our neighbors and friends for their help in any way during the illness and at the time of the death of our dear wife and daughter.
Leora, dear from pain relieved
A golden crown in heaven received,
Leaves to mourn father, mother, brother, sisters two
A loving husband, a darling girlie, Linda Lou.
In her troubles she made peace with God
Before the long and lonely journey trod.
We miss her sweet and loving smile
As we saw her happy, jolly all the while.
She liked to toil in house, on farm
To pass her time in work she saw no harm.
Of lovely flowers at her home there was no end
Many an hour with them she did spend.
Now her loving hands are laid at rest
God in His wisdom knowest best.
