McCleese, 93, of Springdale Road, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. Mr. McCleese was born in Lewis County on Oct. 20, 1912 to the late Harm and Dora Stamm McCleese. He was a retired farmer and landowner. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sparks McCleese; three daughters, Anna Kissick of Maysville, Judy Howell of Cincinnati, Ohio, Shirley (Herbert) Hicks of Zanesville, Ohio; two sons, Wayne (Sue) McCleese of Winchester and William McCleese of Vicksburg, Miss.; two sisters, Frances (Henry) Frodge of Germantown and Icie Cooper of Mount Olivet; one brother, Fred McCleese of Gallatin, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. One grandson, Brian McCleese and two sisters, Elsie Little and Myrtle Hesler preceded him in death. Services for Jess McCleese will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 18, at Brell and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Baptist Cemetery.
