"Jesse David Ober
Jesse David Ober, 79, of Belsano, PA, formerly of Spring Hill, KS, died unexpectedly June 6, 2009 in Berwyn, IL. A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S Webster, Spring Hill, KS, 913-592-2244. Memorial contributions can be made to Law Enforcement Memorial Fund. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m., before the service, at the Funeral Home. Private family inurnment at Spring Hill Cemetery. Condolences to www.brucefuneralhome.com. Jesse was born in Penn Run, PA, to Jesse Levi and Goldie Kate Detwiler Ober. He followed in his father's footsteps in the coal mine at a young age. In 1959, Jesse moved to KS to start a 30+ year career in the construction industry as a Union Carpenter. He worked for CECO Steel Corp and ended his career at Dun-Par Engineered Form Co. in the material yard in Haltom City, TX. After retiring, Jesse moved back to KS and continued working in residential construction. Jesse had a passion for antique tractors and could be found at local pulls with "Old Smokey," his favorite tractor that won him many trophies. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dallas, wife of 49 years Glenna Jean Burkhart Ober, son Scott Paul Ober, Sr. and grandson-in-law Jeffrey Wyers. Jesse is survived by son Bob Ober and wife Leslie of Spring Hill, KS; daughters Kelly Duncan of Independence, MO, and Jessica Hoss and Pat of LaCygne, KS; sisters Pearl Sleppy of Penn Run, PA, and Jean Roach of Clymer, PA; grandchildren Erika Davidson, Becky and Darwin James, Crystal Wyers, Mike and Amy Burns, Bobby and Amanda Ober, Scott Paul Ober, Jr., Harley Rhodes, Alisha Ober, and Matthew Hoss; and ten great grandchildren."
