  [S927] Obituary. MOTT — Services for Ida T. Sprecher, 97, Mott, will be held at 10:30 a.m. MDT Saturday, July 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mott, with the Rev. Joe Burgess officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyslope Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers are Roger Ruggles, Larry Rosenow, Richard Schwartz, Bill Oberlander, Arlen Oberlander and Don Oberlander. Ida Sprecher was born in Havelock, N.D., on June 3, 1914, to Fred and Carolina (Kaseman) Oberlander. She was the fifth of 13 children and attended Tepee Butte School through eighth grade. Ida worked as a waitress at Murphy’s Cafe in Mott and at the Train Depot in Dickinson. On Sept. 22, 1936, Ida married Adolph Sprecher, and the couple had one son, Gary, born on April 23, 1939. Ida and Adolph farmed 10 miles south of Mott until 1970, and moved to town in 1971. Ida resided at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mott since April 2005. Ida was well known for her one-liner jokes, beautiful paintings and playing cards with her friends. She baked many fine wedding cakes over the years, was an ace at bowling and liked to golf. She was fortunate during her long life to have spent 24 winters in Arizona as well. Ida was active in her church, Trinity Lutheran Church, volunteered at the Nursing Home and was a member of the American Legion. Ida passed away on June 22, 2011, at West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Meridean Sprecher, Mott; two grandchildren, Kari (Jim) Sprecher, Bellevue, Wash., and Judith (Noel) Braseth, Gainesville, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Eric Braseth, Gainesville, Fla.; one brother, Harold (Vaudeth) Oberlander, Rapid City, S.D.; and four sisters, Tillie Rosenow, Hettinger, Betty Ruggles, Scranton, Helen (Harvey) Green, Mott, and Loraine (Bill) Bruckner, Easton, Mass. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; her parents, Fred and Caroline Oberlander; her son, Gary Ardene; three sisters, Rose Hoffer, Elsie Johnson and Pauline Schwartz; and four brothers, Fred, Edward, Benny and Adam Oberlander. Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. MDT Friday, followed by a family service at 7 p.m. MDT, all at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Mott. A memorial has been established.
