Hines, Homer J. Hines Source--Monroe County Beacon Woodsfield, Ohio Published--April 21, 1988 Homer J. Hines ,89, formerly of 713 Bruce Street, Ashland, following a short illness. He was born in Lewisville, January 7, 1899, and was the son of John A. and Elizabeth Matz Hines. He was employed as a machinist for the F.E. Myers Company for 29 years retiring in January, 1965. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ashland, a charter member of the Stem Wesleyan Sunday School Class. He was a former Sunday School teacher in Lewisville for many years, and was a member of the Quarter Century Club of Myers. On October 12, 1926, he was married to Grace DeVoe, who preceded him in death on February 1, 1977. He was also preceded in death by one son, Denver T. Hines in April 1935; one grandson, Craig V. Hines on July 30, 1952. He was then married to Freda J. Karth on February 20, 1980, who survives. Also surviving are a son, John O. Hines of Ashland; one stepson, Harold R. Eddington of Ormond Beach, Florida; two granddaughters and one step-granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Services were held April 14 at the Denbow-Primm Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Bibbee officiating. Burial in Ashland Cemetery.
