He was a former marshal and a correction officer of the Chillicothe Federal Reformatory.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis A. Matz, Leland M. Matz; one sister, Sarah M. Borns. He is survived by his wife, Freda Crawford Matz, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; one son James F. Matz, Lebanon; one daughter, Mrs. Al (Peggy Lynn) Brown of Murray, Kentucky; one step-son, Tom Hickenbotham, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; one step-daughter, Mrs. Charles (Jean) Rice, Palm City, Florida; one brother, Ralph E. Matz, Chillicothe; one sister, Thelma M. Matz, Woodsfield; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Memorial services were held March 6 at the Hunter Funeral Home, Hollywood, Florida.
