Birth: Mar. 24, 1917 Washington County Ohio, USA Death: Jul. 15, 2008 Marietta Washington County Ohio, USA Harold Denver Skinner, 91, of Broughton Avenue, Marietta, died at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday (July 15, 2008) at Heartland of Marietta. He was born March 24, 1917, in Lawrence Township, a son of Herbert Skinner and Della S. Burton Skinner. He was retired from Sperry Univac after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, U.S. Army, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre, and was awarded three Bronze Stars for heroism. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church and American Legion. On July 8, 1941, he married Thelma Grace Mendenhall, who survives with two sons, David Skinner of Marietta and Richard (Terry) Skinner of Stewart; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ronald Skinner; great-grandson, Keith Davis; five sisters; and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Kapple officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park with full military rites.
