Karcher, 79, of Shreve, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve with Pastor David Stutzman officiating. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Berlin Christian Fellowship, County Road 201, Berlin 44610. She was born Sept. 22, 1928, in Woodsfield, to Earl L. and Irene M. (Murvine) Hines. She was a member of Berlin Christian Fellowship. She was a graduate of Aultman Nursing Training and continued on to get two master's degrees and became a nursing home inspector for the state of Ohio from which she retired. She loved her Lord and Savior and was a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ all her life and now she is at home with Him. Surviving are three children, Gloria Patterson of Fayettville, N.C., Buddy (Rhonda) Karcher of Canton, and Bradley Karcher of Killbuck; five grandchildren, Lonny, Shannon, Joanne, Jennifer, and Jared; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry Hines.
