Restore the Guest Book On Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the age of 65, Gerard "Jerry" Rupert Guidry Sr. entered into eternal rest. Jerry was the loving husband of Susan Forestier Guidry for almost 42 years. He was the son of Thomas Francis Guidry Sr. and Shirley Ruppert Guidry. Father of the late Kristian Francis Guidry. He is survived by his son, Gerard "Jay" Guidry Jr. (Lannie); his brother, Thomas Francis Guidry Jr. (Jean); his sister, Judith Ann Guidry; his grandsons, Grayson and Parker Guidry; his mother-in-law, Marcella Vath Forestier Strecker; his brother-in-law, Frank Forestier (Barbara); his sister-in-law, Rebecca Forestier Mason (David); nieces and nephews: Laurel Guidry DuPont, Tad Guidry, Mary and James Mason and cousins, including Rose "Winkie" Jensen. Jerry was an active member and commander of American Legion Post 396; manager and bingo chair for the Lions Bingo Hall and a member of the Lakeside Lions Club. He was the past Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 269 and Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 117. He was also an Eagle Scout and Veteran of the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Relatives, family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home on Thursday, October 23, 2014. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am.
