Birth: Jan. 5, 1932 Fulda Noble County Ohio, USA Death: Jun. 16, 2005 Caldwell Noble County Ohio, USA CALDWELL Gerald R. Trix Saling, 73, of Caldwell, died Thursday (June 16, 2005) at his home. He was born Jan. 5, 1932, in Noble County, son of the late Felix and Clara Fogle Saling. Mr. Saling was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He retired from R.C. Moore Lumber Co., Caldwell, and was former owner of the Elm Tavern. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fulda, Caldwell VFW Post 4721, Dexter City American Legion and Caldwell Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard, Clem and Herman Saling; and a sister, Mary Evelyn Arnold. He leaves his wife, Joanne Crock Saling, whom he married July 4, 1959; four sons, Gary (Tina) Saling, Donald Saling, Daniel (Stacey) Saling of Caldwell and Randy (Jodi) Saling of Cambridge; three daughters, Cathy (Darron) Cheeseman of Lowell, Karen (Jack) Baker, Lisa Saling of Caldwell; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where a Vigil service will be 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fulda, with the Rev. Fr. Samuel Saprano officiating.
