Gerald N. Zenker, 63, Bismarck, died December 20, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, December 27, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Deacon Terry Glatt officiating.
Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Gerald "Jerry" Zenker was born February 23, 1949, in Dickinson, ND, the son of Arthur and Elizabeth (Geis) Zenker. He grew up and attended school in Dickinson and Bismarck. Jerry served in the US Army in Vietnam during the war. Following the service, he worked at Bobcat as a welder for over 30 years.
Jerry enjoyed spending time at his cabin at Blue Lake and leatherwork crafts. He was a member of the Amvets, Eagles, and the Moose Lodge. Jerry was a "Papa" to everybody and especially liked spoiling his nieces and nephews and his "little buddy" Xavier.
Jerry is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Annette (Gary) Broeckel, Mandan, Melinda (Bob) Balanga, Lincoln, and Elizabeth Belgard (Dale Fish), Pollock, SD; his brother, Gary (Denise) Zenker, Bismarck; his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and Brooklyn Zenker, who was more like a granddaughter to Jerry.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Terry, Dennis, Greg, and Duane; and one sister, Dorothy Udell.
A benefit luncheon will follow the burial service at the Amvets, 2402 Railroad Avenue Bismarck, ND 58501.
