Bio: Gerald E. Marsh, 77, of Diamond, Titusville RD 4, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2001, in the Select Specialty Unit of Hamot Medical Center, Erie. He had been a patient in Erie since February. Born Nov. 4, 1923, in Coal Hill, he was a son of Frederick and Grace Blauser Marsh. He was a 1941 graduate of Oil City High School. Mr. Marsh was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army with the 121st Cavalry Recon. Squadron in the European Theater of Operations. He was a previous owner of Marsh Lumber Co. in Venus and was a licensed lumber grader for various businesses in the area. Mr. Marsh was a member of the Diamond Evangelical United Methodist Church where he taught the Goodwin Bible Class. He was a member of the United Methodist Men, Diamond Methodist Sunday School and the Sugar Creek Grange. He enjoyed reading, hunting and taking walks in the woods. Mr. Marsh was married in the Diamond Evangelical United Methodist Church July 15, 1961, to the former Lena Kightlinger, who survives. Also surviving are three brothers, ****, Donald Marsh of Venus and ****; one sister, Mrs. Doris Schreffler of Nampa, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Marsh was preceded in death by two brothers, Austin Marsh and Floyd Marsh. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Diamond Evangelical United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gerald Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Diamond Cemetery.
