CRESTLINE -- Freda M. Wichterman, 88, formerly of Hook Road, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at Rosewood Manor, Galion. Born Dec. 23, 1915 in Lewisville, Ohio to Elmer and Anna Pfalzgraf Bintz, she had been an area resident since mid 1930. A homemaker, she worked the family farm for many years and was employed 22 years with the Farm and Fleet Store in Ontario retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Taylortown Community Church. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law; Richard C. and Sherry Wichterman of Dunellon, Fla.; daughter, Linda K. Jenkins of Crestline; daughter-in-law, Judy Wichterman of Crestline; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leona Betts of Akron and Rose Studer of Mansfield; nieces, nephews, and special family friend, James Hale of Crestline. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred C. Wichterman in 1987; and two sisters, Sophia Bintz and Esther Garrett. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday from Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Pastor O. Douglas Tackett will officiate with interment in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial expressions may be made to Taylortown Community Church.
