Evelyn P. Maurer
Evelyn P. Maurer, age 74, of Louisville, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2004, in Aultman Hospital following a recent illness. She was born September 17, 1929, in Louisville, to the late Reinhold J. and Mary A. (Zwick) Jaeb. Evelyn was baptized, married and a life long member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She was active in various church activities as well as a volunteer at St. Joseph Care Center. She enjoyed antique cars and spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Philippians 1:21 ?To live is Christ and to die is gain.? Evelyn is survived by her husband of 56 years, Vernon G. Maurer whom she married December 27, 1947; daughters, Barb (Bill) Alexander of Louisville, Nancy Tucker of Louisville, Mary Jo Sowd of East Canton, Chris (Tim) Samblanet of Louisville, Joanie (Charlie) Boston of Wintersville and Lori (Jeff) Ruffing of Louisville; sons, Rev. James (Jan) Maurer of South Carolina and John Maurer of Canton; sister, Jane Ebie of Louisville; brother, Daniel Jaeb of Middleburg Heights; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Jaeb; and a granddaughter, Heidi Samblanet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church with Msgr. Ken Miller officiating. Interment will follow services in parish cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday (today) 4-7 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. Memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn?s memory to the St. Louis Church Building Fund.
