Breslin Sr. (November 2, 1907 - March 10, 1985)This obituary is from the Press Enterprise Wednesday, May 8, 2013, Bloomsburg, PennsylvaniaErwina Tunnessen BreslinFormer secretary enjoyed gathering recipesErwina Tunnessen Breslin, 94, a resident at the Manor at St. Luke Village, Hazleton, passed away on Thursday afternoon, May 2, 2013.Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose (Hochberg) Tunnessen.Prior to her retirement, Erwina was a secretary at Tunnessen's Auto Parts, Hazleton, and was a member of Annunciation Parish at St. Gabriel's Church, Hazleton.She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, needlepoint, gathering family recipes, and making recipe boxes for each of her grandchildren. In her retirement, she enjoyed the company of her sister-in-law, Grace Tunnessen, and traveling with her best friend, Betty McKelvey.Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, John J. Breslin Sr.; sister: Ruth R. Tunnessen; brothers: Walter W. Tunnessen and Charles T. Tunnessen, and grandson, William H. Hough.She is survived by a son, John J. Breslin Jr., and his wife, Vicki L. Breslin, Virginia Beach, Va.; twin daughters: Susanne B. Hough, and her husband, David A. Hough, Berwick, and Barbara B. Baran, and her husband, Michael D. Baran Sr., Beaver Meadows; grandchildren: Brian M. Breslin, Danielle R. Breslin, Ruth E. Hough-Engel, and her husband, Gerhard Engel, Deborah H. Baran, Jeanette T. Baran-Gale, and her husband, Jerimiah T. Gale, Michael D. Baran Jr., Katherine I. Baran, Barbara E.R. Baran, Nicholas E. Baran, and Anastasia R. Baran. Also surviving are great-grandsons: Dimitri Y. Pascavage, Lorenz W. Engel, Thane V. Warren, and Isaiah G. and Raymond J. Breslin; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial for Erwina will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. on Friday in St. Gabriel's Church, Hazleton. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Gabriel's cemetery, Hazleton.Arrangements are under the direction of the Boyle Funeral Home, Hazleton.
