Ervin Dauenhauer, 1929-2010 Sunday, May 2, 2010 Ervin ?Smiley? Dauenhauer, 81, died Monday, April 5, 2010, at home in Mountlake Terrace, Wash. His funeral Mass and military burial were held Friday, April 9, 2010, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. After retirement from the U.S. Air Force (1948-1968) as a navigator, Ervin and his family moved to Columbia. He taught business management for the University of Missouri?s Department of Agricultural Economics. He enjoyed his work with farmers and their communities. Recognizing a need for transportation of those living in rural areas to larger communities for necessary services, he became involved in O.A.T.S., a rural public transportation service. He served on the board of directors from 1972-74, and continued as an advisor until retirement. Because of his enthusiastic support, we ask that memorial contributions be sent to O.A.T.S. Ervin is survived by his dedicated wife of 59 years, Lorelei Dauenhauer; four daughters, Paula, Victoria, Mary and Ann; a son, David; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
