Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Bismarck. Burial will be held in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. ElRoy was born May 22, 1932, to Edwin and Adina (Liebig) Mund in Fredonia. He was raised and educated at Ashley. He joined the U.S. Army on Nov. 8, 1951, and was honorably discharged on Aug. 12, 1953, as a sergeant. He graduated from Wahpeton School of Science. He was an auditor for the North Dakota State Tax Department for over 30 years. ElRoy married Darlene Klipfel on Sept. 27, 1953. They lived in Mandan for 45 years where they raised their family. They moved to Bismarck in 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Adina Mund; his father and mother-in-law, Fred and Lydia (Bender) Klipfel; his brothers-in-law, Raymond Klipfel, Willie Delzer, Art Gehring and Ruben Scherle; and one sister-in-law, Deloris Klipfel.
