  [S927] Obituary. Obituary - Ellwood City (Pa.) Ledger, October 7, 1967 - Edward R. Slevin Dies: Edward R. Slevin, 72, of 300 Wood St. died unexpectedly at 1:15 p.m. yesterday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Harry (Roberta) Laughlin in Vermillion, Ohio. He was born in Temperanceville, Ohio, Feb. 1, 1895, a son of Nicholas and Ella Poulton Slevin. His wife, Mrs. Bertella Kossoer Slevin preceded him in death in 1934. A brother, Henry, preceded him in death in 1963 and a sister, Bernice, in 1966. Mr. Slevin retired from the Ellwood Works of U.S. Steel in 1960, after working in the Stores Department for many years. He was a member of the St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, Ellwood City Elks Lodge and the St. Vincent Depaul Society of St. Agatha. Survivers include two sons, Edward Slevin of Ellwood City and Thomas Slevin of Lodi, California; two daughters, Mrs. Zachary (Helen) Sockaci of Ellwood City and Mrs. Albert (Ruth) Jerome of Ellwood City; two brothers, Patrick Slevin of Montana and Michael Slevin of Temperanceville; his sister in Vermillion; and 23 grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7-9 tonight and 2-4 and 7-9 tomorrow at the P.O. Contrucci Funeral Home. Requiem mass will be sung at 9 a.m. Monday with Rev. Edward Cole, pastor of St. Agatha, officiating.
