Birth: Mar. 16, 1927 Death: Mar. 24, 2016 Charlee Gross Baer Fleischer died early Thursday morning surrounded by her family. She was born March 16, 1927 to loving parents, Dora and Louis Baer, now deceased, who adored her. An only child, she was doted on by her parents and several childless aunts and uncles. She graduated Washington University in 1948 Magna Cum Laude with a degree in retail merchandising. A woman ahead of her time, she made her way successfully in Memphis business, employed for many years at the Memphis Shoppers News. She married Melvin Fleischer, a successful Memphis attorney, the love of her life and husband of fifty years, on July 19, 1959. She was the proud mother of two sons Donald Louis (Jeanette) Fleischer of Memphis, and Max Andrew Fleischer of Nashville, and the loving aunt of fourteen nieces and nephews. Though she stopped working for many years to raise her children, she became dedicated to several organizations, serving as president of the local chapter of B'nai B'rith Women, The Memphis Bar Association Auxiliary and The Temple Israel Sisterhood, and was a dedicated member of the Friends of The Pink Palace. She was a lifelong member of Temple Israel. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 28th in Levy-Cooper Chapel at the Temple Israel Cemetery.
