Calvin Streyle MENNO — Calvin Ernest Streyle, 86, of Menno died Friday (Aug. 31, 2001) in Freeman. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Zion Reformed Church, Menno. Burial will be in the Kassel Cemetery, Menno. Pallbearers will be Vance Streyle, Corey Streyle, Chad Streyle, Osa Kauffman and Aumi Kauffman. Visitations will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The Aisenbrey-Kostel Funeral Home, Menno, is in charge of arrangements. He was born April 6, 1915, to Jacob and Christina (Mettler) Streyle in Menno. He was baptized, confirmed and a lifetime member of Zion Reformed Church. He served in various areas of ministry in the church. Calvin was also involved in numerous community roles. After high school graduation in 1934, he worked in the Bakersfield, Calif., area for a short time. He married Irene Stoebner on Aug. 24, 1941, in Tripp. After their marriage, they farmed in Hutchinson County. Irene died June 30, 1981. Calvin married Rolinda Mettler June 24, 1982, and moved into Menno, where they made their home for 19 years. Calvin enjoyed woodworking upon retirement. He took special pleasure in making things for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Rolinda, Menno; one son: Norman (Carol), Sioux Falls; a daughter: Joyce (Jim) Kauffman, Casper, Wyo.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers: Edor Streyle, Menno, and Alvert Streyle, Albert Lea, Minn.; and two sisters: Lydia Mettler, Bakerfield, Calif., and Viella Knodel, Freeman.
