Shoudel, 82, of Auburn, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn. She worked as a key punch operator for Messenger Corp. for 34 years. She was a member of Hopewell United Brethren Church in rural Auburn. She was born Feb. 28, 1924, in DeKalb County to Michael J. and Alice (Carnahan) Shoudel. They preceded her in death. Surviving are a brother, Roy M. Shoudel of Leo; two sisters, Ruby M. Yoder of Huntertown and Gladys Wilcoxson of Auburn; and 15 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ora M. Shoudel; two sisters, Lela I. Schwartz and Neva Boyce; a niece; and a nephew. Services were held 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 5, at Hopewell United Brethren Church, with the Rev John Erwin officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn. Calling was Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church. Memorials are to Hopewell United Brethren Chruch.
