Birth: Jun. 30, 1918 American Falls Power County Idaho, USA Death: Oct. 13, 1999 Sturgis Meade County South Dakota, USA Alla Martha Rittel, 81, Sturgis, died Wednesday, October 13, 1999, at the Sturgis Community Health Care Center. Visitation will be 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 1999, at the United Methodist Church in Sturgis with Pastor Frank McKeehan officiating. Interment services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Pastor Frank McKeehan officiating. Friends may gather at the funeral chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery. Alla was born June 30, 1918, at Aberdeen, ID, to Francis and Hattie (Prather) Dalton. She lived in Idaho until age six when the family moved to a homestead near Holabird, SD. She attended country school near Holabird. She married William A. Rittel at Highmore, SD, on February 9, 1941. The couple farmed until 1955 when they moved to Sturgis. The couple owned and operated a gas station in Sturgis. Alla babysat and worked in local cafes though the 1970's. She was a member of Eastern Star, the United Methodist Church, the Young at Hearts Club, and the Meade County Senior Citizens Center.
