ELKHART -- Ada N. Holmes, 96, of 1077 Greenleaf Blvd., died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 30, 2004) in Greenleaf Living Center.
She was born May 13, 1908, in Wakarusa to Wilbert and Elva (Berkey) Shank. She married Lloyd R. Holmes, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Karl D. (JoAnne) Holmes and Keith J. (Nancy) Holmes, both of Elkhart; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and three great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bemis Holmes; a sister, Madge Lanning; a brother, Cyrus Shank; a grandson and a step-grandson.
There will be no visitation. The family will have private services, with burial in Olive Cemetery. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St., Elkhart, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Holmes retired from C.G. Conn in 1972 after 30 years of service. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.
