Kenneth G. Burkhart, of Canton, died Wednesday in Aultman Hospital after a long illness. Born in Belmont County, OH, he had been a Canton resident since 1956. He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service, and was also retired from the Hoover Co. with 22 years of service. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Canton Elks Lodge, the Canton Moose Lodge and the North Canton Eagles. Survived by his wife, Bernadine (Mac) Burkhart; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Robert Palumbo of Plant City, FL; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Karren and Ray Stouffer of Canton; a stepson, Gary McCormick of Eustis, FL; three grandchildren, Karren and Kelli Palumbo, and Susan Petillo; a great-granddaughter, Savanna Petillo and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bernice and Hubert Rawley and Audrey Bell, all of Barnsville, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald Klingler as celebrant. Entombment will be in the North Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call Friday (tonight) 7-9 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
