Wall's oldest citizen, Michael Volz, 95, passed away quietly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cliff Foster, yesterday morning. For the past several months he has been gradually loosing grip on life. Five generations were present here on May 12 to honor his 95th birthday. Volz was born in 1855 and was 61 years old when he came to make his home in this community in 1916. These past 34 years he has made his home mainly with the Cliff Fosters. He was born at Ferdinand, Indiana, and married Mary Ubelhor of that place in 1877. She died in 1898 (March 8) in Indiana. Six of his nine children are still living - Jake (Jacob) and Frank Volz who still reside in Indiana, John Volz of Louisville, Kentucky, Mrs. Rose Sturgeon of Brooksville, Indiana, and Mrs. John Foster and Mrs. Cliff Foster of Wall. Besides these children, he is survived by a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangments are pending word from distant relation.
