Singer, 85, of 3420 Wooster Road, Rocky River, died Oct 27 [1985] at Lake- wood Hospital. He was born Jan. 8, 1900, in Ohio a son of Alex and Philomena Schell Singer. He was a retired self-employed contractor. Mr. Singer is survived by his wife, Lillian McClosky Singer; a son, Fred Singer; three daughters, Peggy Boshara, Shirley Jensen and Joan Clement, a brother, Ida; two sisters, Laura Kirby and Winifred Hill; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday Oct. 30 at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Rocky River. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery near Cleveland. Chambers Funeral Home in Rocky River handled the arrangements. The family requests material tributes be made to the St. Christopher Catholic Church building fund. Note: Both obituaries incorrectly refer to Fred’s sister Ida Singer (Brahler) as his brother.
