McCONNELSVILLE - Charles M. Paulus, 86, of 243 E. Union Ave., McConnelsville, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at his home.
Born Jan. 28, 1919, in Woodsfield, he was a retired civil engineering technician for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in McConnelsville, former member of M&M Kiwanis Club and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a daughter, Charlene (Anthony) Oaks of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Sarah, Anthony, John and Eleanor; a sister, Emma Lucille (William) Tyndall of Westerville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Philomena Schmacher; his father, Albert Paulus; his wife, Wilma E. Schott Paulus, who died Nov. 4, 1996.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at Miller-Huck Funeral Home, McConnelsville, with Christian Wake services at 8 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2005, at St. James Catholic Church with Father Paul Walker as celebrant. Burial will be in McConnelsville Cemetery with military rites by Morgan County Veterans Council.
