Services are 2:00 PM, Friday, September 26th at First Baptist Church, Eureka, with Pastor Gary Bergman officiating. Organist will be Esther Grosz and the congregation will sing ?Blessed Assurance? and ?When we all get to Heaven?. Soloist Gail Duenwald will sing ?Amazing Grace? and ?The old rugged Cross?. Ushers will be Theophil Dohn and Wallace Kusler. Visitation is at Lien-Straub Funeral Chapel from 5:00 PM Thursday until 11:00 AM Friday with Esther?s family present from 6:00-8:00 PM. Esther Hoff, daughter of Katharina (Neuharth) and Fred J. Hoff, was born January 15, 1915 at her parent?s farm SW of Eureka in Campbell County. This is where she was raised and attended the Hoff Rural School. Following her schooling, she stayed on her parent?s farm and also worked as a hired girl for other families. She married Edward Lindemann on May 15, 1946 at Aberdeen, SD. They first lived in Eureka where Edward owned and operated the Lindemann Farm Store. In 1953 they settled on their farm four miles south and seven miles east of Mound City, SD. Mr. Lindemann died August 7, 1985. Esther moved into Eureka in 1986 and had lived at the Avera Eureka Healthcare Center since July 2000. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eureka. Her hobbies included gardening and raising turkeys. Esther is survived by 3 sons?Jerry (Rocky) Lindemann of Brighton, Co., Dean (Pat) Lindemann of Custer, SD, and Neil (Carole) Lindemann of Mira Loma, CA; 1 daughter Linda Nitschke of Jamestown, ND; 1 brother Benny Hoff of Kamiah, Idaho; 2 sisters?Violet Lindemann of Eureka and Leah Pfahl of Papillion, NE; 9 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Family members preceding Esther in death include her father on March 1, 1977, her mother on May 28, 1968, her husband, 1 infant son, 2 sisters, 4 brothers, and 1 infant grandson. Casketbearers will be Chet Lindemann of Brighton, Sam DeGroot of Jamestown, Ken Larson of Ft. Pierre, SD, and Esther?s sons. Honorary bearers will be Esther?s grandchildren.
