"Ed" Hoff, 93, of Lodi, died May 1 in a local convalescent hospital. He was born Nov. 2, 1910, in Eureka, S.D. where he was raised.Mr. Hoff married Hilda Whittmeyer and they moved to Aberdeen, S.D. in 1943, where he operated a service station. In 1956, he moved with his wife to Lodi. He worked in real estate, and also worked in automobile sales for 43 years until his retirement in 1980. He was named "Top Sales Representative" for Mobile Oil Company for the North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota area. He was a member of the United Congregational Christian Church in Lodi, where he served as a deacon for several years. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge in South Dakota. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and traveling. Edwin Hoff He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Hilda Hoff, of Lodi; sons, Ernold E. Hoff, of Lodi, Reno R. Hoff, of Salem, Ore., Harley G. Hoff, of Lodi, Clyde C. Hoff, of Santa Rosa; daughters, Shirley M. Prickett, of Lodi, and Phillippine Addington, of Lodi; brothers, Allen Hoff, of Elk Grove, Calvin Hoff, of Bismarck, S.D.; sister, Lorraine Gilland, of Aberdeen, S.D.; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Cherokee Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at United Congregational Christian Church, on the corner of S. Hutchins St. and W. Tokay St. in Lodi with the Rev. Paul R. Donavan, Jr. officiating.
