Birth: Aug. 5, 1863 Vynohradne Odes'ka, Ukraine Death: Aug. 18, 1939 Eureka McPherson County South Dakota, USA Jacob B BENDER born 5 August 1863 in Worms, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia was the son of Johann Georg BENDER (1836 - ca.1895) and Margaretha KERCHER (1838-1900). Jacob at the age of 23 traveling alone immigrated to America via the Port of Glasgow, Scotland aboard the SS "State of Georgia" and arrived at the Port of New York, New York on the 11th of December 1886. Jacob married Elizabeth HAUCK on the 24th of November 1890 in Eureka, McPherson County, South Dakota. The couple were blessed with no less than 10 children; Elizabeth, Emily, Emma, August, Carl, Lydia, Albert, Henry, Martha and Edward.
