[S927] Obituary. Wayne Stegner, 80, of Delaware, died Sunday (July 12, 2009) at Delaware Court Health Care Center. He was born Nov. 24, 1928 in Delaware to Albert and Mabel (Carpenter) Stegner. He graduated from Brown High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. A lifetime resident of Delaware County, he was the retired director of purchasing for the Glenwood Range Company and retired purchasing agent for Ohio Steel FAB. He was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church, K of P Lodge and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Terry Christian of New Carlisle; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary W. and Vickey of Sunbury; three grandchildren, Erin, Barry and Jeremy; three great-grandchildren, Jace, Kaylie and Zachary Wayne; two brothers, Lewis of Bellepoint and James of Delaware; one sister, Margie Clayton of Croton; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jan and Bob Roberts of Powell; and a special companion, Mindy. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Robinson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gilbert Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery where the Delaware County Veterans Association will conduct military honors.
