Jacob and Mary M. (Loeffle) Schneck with one daughter and five sons, emigrated from Germany to Rochester, Monroe County, New York in 1851. Their son, Frank Joseph Schneck, moved to Hemlock, Livonia township, Livingston County, New York and lived near the entrance to what has been known for many years, as the "Hemlock Lake Park". He was a cooper by trade and owned a cider mill where he made and sold his "Drinking Cider". He was a Civil War Veteran.

Frank Schneck of Rochester came to Livonia Tuesday to attend the funeral of John Wells, his long time comrade. Mr. Schneck was 83 years old on that day. He is in pretty good health. He never misses a Memorial day service here.
