McMullen, 93, of Tremont passed away at 7:25 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Bickford Cottage in Peoria, Ill. He was born June 6, 1917, in rural Minier, Ill., to Fred and Ethel Britton McMullen. He married Eunice Unsicker on Nov. 23, 1940, and she survives. Also surviving are one son, Neil McMullen of Peoria; two daughters, Jane (Paul) Richmond of Mackinaw and Marilee (Russell) Chapman of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Hugh (Marilyn) McMullen of Hopedale. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen Ann; one granddaughter, Theresa; and two brothers, Harry and Richard. George was a 50-year member of Tremont Masonic Lodge #462 and a member of Peoria Consistory SPTS. He was a faithful blood donor to the American Red Cross and retired from WABCO in Peoria after 39 years of employment. He was also a member of Tremont United Methodist Church, where his funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010. The Rev. Chet Travis will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
