Zanesville Times Recorder, pg 1, 8 Feb 1954 LEWISVILLE FARMER DROPS DEAD REACHING HOME FROM HOSPITAL SUMMERFIELD, Feb. 7 - Aloysius Burkhart, 80, returned to his home on Lewisville Rt. 1 from Good Samaritan hospital and dropped dead at 4:30 p.m. today [7 Feb 1954]. He had been in the hospital for the past week undergoing a checkup and while walking from the car to the door of his home complained of shortness of breath. He laid down as soon as he stepped into the house and died within several minutes. Mr. Burkhart was the last of nine children born to Theobold and Cath- erine Wahl Burkhart and had resided in the Lewisville vicinity all of his life. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, Cecilia, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Constantine Burkhart of near Lewisville, Mrs. Stella Crumm of Woodsfield Rt. 3 and Sister Joan, of St. Mary?s hospital, Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, Lucien. Leander and Cyril, all of Rt. 1 Lewisville. The body will be returned Tuesday to the residence from the Brubach funeral home here. Time and date of the services will be arranged upon arrival of the daughter from Kansas City, but services will be in St. Joseph?s Catholic church at Burkhart with Rev. Fr. Joseph Finan in charge. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Zanesvilel Times Recorder, 9 Feb 1954 pg 2 RITES WEDNDESDAY FOR LEWISVILLE MAN Funeral services for Aloysius Burkhart of Lewisville Rt. 1 will be held from the St. Joseph church at Burkhart at 9:30 Wednesday morning with Fr. Joseph Finan officiating. Mr. Burkhart died suddenly Sunday morning while returning to his home from the Good Samaritan hospital. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill cemetery by the Brubach funeral home.
