Charles H. Matz Charles H. Matz was born July 1, 1868, near Woodsfield, Ohio. He married Mary Ann Neibch on December 12, 1905. Mary was born August 6, 1875, in Malaga Township, on Lewisville, Route 2, Monroe County, Ohio and the daughter of Phillip and Dortha Baker Neibch. At an early age Mary was confirmed into full membership with St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Summit Township, Monroe County. Her husband Charles, age 53 , died on Sunday October 30, 1921. The cause of death was an abscess of the tongue to which he succumbed after a long and lingering illness. L.P. Diehl, M.D., was his physician. Funeral services were held at the St. Paul's Evangelical Church at Woodsfield on Tuesday and was conducted by the Reverend Joseph Renickle and the interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield. His wife Mary Ann Neibch Matz, age 82 years, 4 months, 6 days, died on Thursday morning, December 12, 1957, at the home of her sister, Matilda Neibch, on Lewisville, Route 2, after an extended illness. Mary Ann was a lifelong resident of the Lewisville vicinity. Her brother was Elmer Neibch of Lewisville. Two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Bauer and Turner Funeral Chapel with Reverend George Varns, of Lewisville officiating.
