Patsy Ruth Fabacher Hewes
MARRERO - Patsy Ruth Fabacher Hewes, 70, passed away at 1 p.m. May 5, 2007, at Wynhoven Healthcare Center into the waiting arms of her all-loving Father.She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Tom H Hewes, of Florida; brothers, Daniel L Fabacher Sr., and Robert J. Fabacher Sr. and wife, Lucille; sisters-in-law, Savannah Fabacher and Rosie Fabacher, all of Lafayette; half-sisters, Evette and husband, Ron Doucet, of Sulphur and Christine Fabacher; aunt and uncle, Rose and Dalton Prejean, of Westwego; seven nieces; six nephews; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, many cousins and loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alix Prejean Fabacher; and half-brother, Jerry Fabacher; and loving nieces, Cindy Fabacher Angelle and Dagmar Prejean Duhon.Mrs. Hewes was a native of Lafayette, and a 1954 graduate of Mt. Carmel High School in Lafayette.She later lived in Oscar, for many years until approximately four and a half years ago, then moving to Wynhoven Healthcare Center in Marrero. She was the motivation of her nieces and nephews before having a stroke twenty-one years ago, but that did not stop her from traveling with her husband , cat and dog. She was very talented in hand work, crocheting and knitting until her death. She was a kind and loving lady who will be missed by her family and friends. After a life enriched with simple human challenges, graces, joys and disappointments, her life was made more difficult and shortened by colon cancer. "Be not afraid, I go before you always. Come follow Me and I will give you rest."The family would like to express a very special thanks to aunt and uncle, Rose and Dalton Prejean for their help and care and appreciation to the nurses and staff at Wynhoven Healthcare Center, Canon Hospice and to Drs.
