Vernon Neuhardt Email To A Friend Printer Friendly Comments October 16, 2007 WOOSTER -- Vernon Arthur Neuhardt, 81, of Wooster, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, in West View Manor Nursing Home. Friends will be received at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. Private family burial will be held. Those who wish may make contributions to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road or to Oak Chapel United Methodist Church, 4203 W. Old Lincoln Way, Wooster 44691. Born April 7, 1926, in Lewisville, he was the son of Arthur and Bertha (Christman) Neuhardt. He was a 1949 graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor of science degree in animal science. Vernon had been a herdsman and Instructor Emeritus at Ohio Agricultural Research & Development Center. He was a member of Wooster United Methodist Church, member of Westwood Ruritans and volunteered at Wooster Township Fire Department for a number of years. He also volunteered for Wooster Community Hospital Medical Alerts and was one of the founders of OARDC Credit Union. Surviving are his wife, Beverly R. (Bodey) Neuhardt, to whom he had been married 53 years; his children, David (Sharen) Neuhardt of Yellow Springs, Craig Neuhardt of Salisbury, N.C., Jane (Chris) Fickes of Wooster and Rick Neuhardt of Wooster; grandchildren, Alex and Colin Fickes and Ann and Rob Gage; sisters, Nadine Knowlton of Columbus and Delys Bodenhausen of Hilandville, Mo.
