Mrs. Ernestine Neuhardt Thompson, 82, wife of J. Calvin Thompson, died unexpectedly in her home at 37th st. and Lincoln ave., Shadyside, at 9:15 a.m. today. Ill six months, she apparently had recovered and was about as usual this morning.
Born in Monroe county, a daughter of James Neuhardt, she had resided at Shadyside for 37 years. She was a member of the Shadyside M. E. church.
Bereaved are her husband and two sisters, Miss Amelia Neuhardt, Shadyside, and Mrs. Catherine Harrigan, Tucson, Ariz.
Remains, taken to the Grafton-Bauknecht-Mellott, mortuary, will be returned to the home this evening. Services probably Wednesday, will be in charge of Rev. Thomas H. Kerr. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.
*Submitter's Note: The article in COMBINED HISTORY AND ATLAS OF MONROE COUNTY OHIO, published in 1882, includes Ernestine with the family of John M. Neuhart: "JOHN M. NEUHART----the subject of this sketch, was born in Germany, August 28, 1820, son of Valentine Neuhart and Catherine Bintz, both deceased. His wife, Catherine Shaub, daughter of John and Mary (Netz) Shaub, was also born in Germany." Some members of the family go by Neuhart; others by Neuhardt. The Shaub family referred to above was spelled "Schaub" in Monroe County, Ohio.
