NORTH SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP - Flora (Veiock) Buck, 90, of North Sewickley Township, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, in the Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony, after an extended illness. Born July 24, 1913, in Rochester, a daughter of the late Roy and Gertrude (Barnes) Veiock, she was a graduate of New Brighton High School and the Beaver Valley General Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the Beaver Valley General Hospital Alumni Association and the Steffin Hill Presbyterian Church, Beaver Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucien Buck, on Jan. 12, 1963; a brother, Lester Veiock, in 1978; two sisters, Ruth Correll, in 1988, and Evelyn Stoner, in 1996, and an aunt, Helen (Barnes) Donaldson, in 1992. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Evelyn Elizabeth and John Garmen, with whom she resided, and Gertrude Matheke, San Bernardino, Calif.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Patricia (James) Schaffer, West Sunbury, Pa.; Theresa (Scott) Brown, Ellwood City, and David L. Matheke, Van Nuys, Calif.; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a sister and brother-in-law, Madeline and Dr. Robert C. Phillips, New Brighton; a sister-in-law, Mildred Veiock, Saxonburg; a brother-in-law Chester Stoner, Beaver Falls, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., www.jjsprattfh.com, New Brighton, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Paul Holland of the Calvary Presbyterian Church, Beaver Falls, officiating. Interment will follow in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton.
