Rosina Guthmiller was born on December 25, 1911 to John and Christina Guthmiller on a farm south of Tripp. She was baptized at age Emmanuel Creek Church in rural Tripp. She attended country school through the 8th grade, then stayed at home to help her parents. She was confirmed by Rev. Zogg in July of 1926. When her parents retired in 1936, she moved into Scotland with them. The chores did not stay on the farm, however, as they brought the chickens and several cows with them to town. After her father passed away, Rosina moved to the nursing home in Parkston for a year and a half, then moved to Tripp in November of 1968. She was a member of the Good Samaritan Auxiliary, and was a member of the Frieden?s UCC Church and Frieden?s Ladies? Aid for 31 years. Rosina passed away on May 6, 2002 at the Tripp Good Samaritan Center in Tripp at the age of 90 years.
Grateful for having shared her life are her sisters, Regina Raasch of Hillsboro, Oregon and Martha Hirsch and Marie Gall of Tripp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Bertha Vilhauer, Katie Pekas, Emma Stoebner, Johanna Buechler, Viola Hartman and Beatha Hoff and a brother, Albert.
