LEXINGTON: William A. Seiler, 80, of Yuma, Arizona, and formerly of Orchard Park Road, Lexington, died Sunday March 16, 2003 in Yuma Regional Medical Center following a long illness. He was born May 26, 1922 in Lefor, North Dakota to Henry and Katherine (Heidecker) Seiler and had been a Mansfield area resident before moving to Arizona 12 years ago. William was employed as a press operator for Therm-O-Disc, retiring in 1985 with 17 years of service. He was a member of Resurrection Parish Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Sons of Herman. He enjoyed fishing, polka dancing and traveling. A loving husband, father and grandpa, he is survived by his wife Lena (Scharosch) Seiler whom he married Feb. 1, 1997; a son and daughter-in-law Alan and Pam Seiler of Temperance, Michigan; a daughter and son-in-law Joanne and Bert Bednar of Avon; stepchildren and their spouses Joyce and Bob Morton of Mansfield, Janet and Bob Malik of Temperance, Beth and Randy Stegal of Mansfield, Rita Outcalt of Lancaster and Jerry and Janet Scharosch of Mansfield; four grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, and six great grandchildren; three brothers and a sister-in-law Vernon Seiler of Texas, Joseph Seiler of North Dakota and John and Olivia Seiler of Dayton; six sisters and three brothers-in-law Vi Krantz of Mansfield, Clara and Art Sprunk of California, Katherine Seiler and Martha Seiler of Colorado, Betty and Wally Smith of Conneaut and Joanne and Ray Gregory of Dickinson, North Dakota. His first wife Ann E. Seiler and a brother Henry Seiler preceded him in death. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday March 22, 2003 at 11 AM in Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, celebrated by the Rev. Father Stanley Szybka. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 AM in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice.

April 4, 2012 Paul Douglas Reiss, 70, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Paul was a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He was a Eucharistic minister and helped the church in many ways, serving at the food pantry and in the Rosary Society. In May, he was to be commissioned in the Ministry of Pastoral Care at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Mr. Reiss served in the U.S.M.C. and was in Guantanamo Bay during the Cuban Missile Crisis in the Naval Gunfire Liaison Team. Paul was honorably discharged 1964 as a corporal. He received a degree in chemical technology from OCC in 1967. Paul was employed at Allied Chemical as a research technician over 12 years. He also volunteered at the American Red Cross. Paul enjoyed his family, taking candid photos and was an avid sports fan who followed Cleveland and Syracuse teams. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Edward H. and Virginia B. (Radziszewski) Reiss, and is survived by daughters Jennifer (Nicholas) Defio of Syracuse and Ann (Thomas) Horth of North Syracuse; grandchildren Nicky, Julie, Ally and Justin; sisters Sharon Meddley of Virginia and Margot (Richard) Cole of Hannibal; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 West Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY 13204. Funeral services are 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hollis Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, followed by burial with military honors at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lakeland. Instead of flowers, family requests donations to the Sacred Heart Food Pantry, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse, NY 13204.
